This cottage is snuggled in a secluded valley and has panoramic views of the lush green farmland and native New Zealand bush. There is a 2 hour walk to the historic Lime Mine through a Bush Reserve, or just watch the cows meandering pass the house from the window seat. We have everything you need to make your stay comfortable plus no noise, no light pollution, a great get away spot, indoor shower & outdoor baths
The space
A relaxing restored original 1930's farm house, made from the timber cleared from the farm. A perfect spot to recharge your batteries, whether is just sitting in the window seat watching the cows meander past or if you are curious about NZ farm life and the history of the Mokau River, we have something special just for you. Only 4km from the Statehighway 3 but mlies away from stress and concrete jungles.
Enjoy the spacious large farm style kitchen and living area, great for entertaining or just relaxing and enjoying the rural views. There is farm walks, 2 hours walk to the historic Lime Mine or a Hlil climb with spectacular views.
Kitchen is equipped with a large gas hob and electric oven, microwave and large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A 50 inch T.V. is in the lounge along with a selection of movies and freeview, there is cell phone coverage with spark on the patio, but not inside the house. Indoor bathroom with shower and 2 fire outdoor baths heated by fire. Also an outdoor fire pit, a great area to tell yarns and roast marshmallows. A cosy indoor fire to sit around on a rainy day.

15 minutes drive to Mokau with its black sand beaches, cafes known for their delicious whitebait fritters. The Mokau museum is a must.
75minutes drive to Waitomo.
30 minutes drive to The Three Sisters and Elephant Rock.
A perfect stop between Waitomo and Taranaki and a chance to experience a real rural environment and farming atmosphere only 5 minutes off state highway 3.

800 acres of farm land, 500 in native bush and the remaining 300 acres is used as a beef farm. Beautiful views of the secluded Mokau river valley, native bush, abundant wlid life, peace, tranquliity and fresh farm produce. Water from a spring on the hlil, mlik fresh from the cow, fruit from a spray free orchard, life the way it used to be. We are more than happy to show around if you wish to walk, hunt or fish on the property. The river has a great history including coal mining, a Lime Mine and klin, sawmlils and schools, untouched native bush all there waiting to be explored.
